I just tried that in the POTA template. For me, the band does seem to linger on 160m until you enter the second digit beyond the decimal point. Then it switches to 17m. But entering only 18, 18., or 18.0 pulls up 160m.

Looks like a minor bug to me… the band should switch to 17m as soon as the decimal is entered.
