MacBook Pro will not work

I have downloaded HAMRS to my MacBook Pro and when I try to open it it says unable to verify update program. From what I can tell I have the latest version

How do I get HAMRS to work on my MacBook

You are running into the security of macOS which makes you go through a couple of hoops in order to run a program that you downloaded from the internet.

Here is how you approve it.

1. Try to open Hamrs. You will get the message
2. Go to the Apple Menu (Upper left corner) and click on System Settings
3. On the left side, look for Privacy & Security and click on it.
4. On the right side, scroll down until you see Security. You should see something about Hamrs just below the allow applications section.
5. Click on the button to the right of Hamrs to allow it to run.
6. Go back to the Applications folder, or Launch Pad to try to open Hamrs again.
7. You will get a popup. Click on the Open button
8. Hamrs should now run with no security issues

This procedure is for any programs that are downloaded, but are not verified by Apple. Yes, it is a little bit of a hassle to work through this, but once you get the hang of it, it only takes a minute or so to get through it.
