Same in this version as reported before. To be able to delete a contact I have to close the application and open it to be able to delete it. New contacts does not go away.
In the next release, I have included better error reporting so I can get more reports of these errors. This one has cropped up from time to time, but I can’t seem to replicate it, and apparently have a blind spot with what the app is reporting back to me on that front. It sucks, but you’ll have to do the work-around you found for at least a few more days.

Just tested on the Fire tablet and also is happening there.
Fire 8th with OS 7.3.1.8
